BEEEG CHARITY DRIVE 2011

The BEEEG Charity Drive started during 2007 when Staffie and some friends coincidently reached the front door of DIE HERBERG in Robertson whilst on a bike ride.

This year's event is arranged and managed by a new team of caring, compasionate and concerned bikers.

Die Herberg Children's Home provides a comprehensive one-stop service to children in need of care in the Western -and Southern Cape and to perform this task with the help of skilled, motivated personnel by means of a cost-effective budget. They give shelter to children who are found to be in need of care by The Commissioner of Child Care. The reasons for accommodation in the Herberg vary from neglect and lack of visible means of support to sexual exploitations and abuse. Provision is made for caring and therapy for these children.

On the 9th October 2011 those who care (on bikes, in cars, planes, bussed, on tractors -and with skateboards) will be riding out to DIE HERBERG for a day of fun with the kids. We will be playing games like touch rugby, netball and musical chairs with the kids. Although the main aim of the day is to spend quality time with the kids - we would like to get much needed toiletries and other general household items to the home. Can you help ? We are constantly looking for sponsors.

Come along and make the day a day to remember for us and the children in our community ! Participation is free as long as you bring toiletries for a child. You may also want to join us for a light meal on the day - please register below for the meal and a metal bikers badge.

Looking forward to seeing you !

Pre-registrations and confirmations for badges -and lunch has unfortunately closed for 2011. There will however be a very limited amount of badges available on the day at R50 each as well as some food for sale (cash only) by the home. (First come first served basis for both.)

You may still participate in the mass ride and the events on the day (9th October 2011). Participation is FREE on condition that you bring some toiletries for a child. More details about this event and the proposed route is available here.

Please note : all proceeds of this event goes to die Herberg directly. Neither THINK BIKE (which includes its divisions, affiliates, joint ventures and/or departments) nor the organizers receive any remuneration, "cut's", profits and/or rebates what so ever. We use the moneys received to buy the food, shirts, cold drinks, badges etc. which is not sponsored for the day and the balance is then donated as one large cash amount to the die Herberg. It's all about the kids !

See you on the there !
